Finely detailed with old-world style. This set has beautiful oriental meanders and motifs with vibrant colors. Not factory made, but uniquely made by industry craftsman. Fair Trade item for Worldstock Story Behind the Art: The journey began when their Grandparents migrated to India during the India-Pakistan partisan in 1847. When their granddaughter's were very young, the grandmother taught them the art of quilting. Members an orthodox Hindu family, the three sisters, Shila age 27, Madhu 24 and Kavita 21 work as a team and produce amazing, art laden kalamari and quilts. Following the traditional art as it was taught by their grandma, they create their own designs, and hand craft quilts, often called Jaipuri Razaai. The art requires traditional skills of cotton carding, cotton voile making followed by quilting. The three sisters often take turns performing various phases of project. Their goal is to make three to five quilts per week, on contract basis, earning over 100.00 dollars each per month. They said, 'The beauty and warmth of Jaipuri Razzai is as important as artistry that goes into making it.' Customer Review: Beautiful!! I was a bit apprehensive about buying this at first. You never know what the quality is when you are buying sight unseen. This is so well made! The colors are gorgeous, and it fits the bed well. Some quilts barely cover the bed, not this one. It drapes just like in the picture. This quilt has just the right amount of filler too, and is not too heavy. The price for this set was quite a steal!! I'm so glad I took the chance and purchased this beautiful quilt. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
